Browns (Day 38)
I have just been out for lunch to Browns restaurant in Bath with one of my housemates, and we are both so full of delicious food 🙂 It was amazing value as well as we used The Times eat out from £5 offer, so the food below only cost £5!!!!!
We both ended up ordering the same meals, so we had Steak and Mushroom Guinness pie, with ‘mashed potato’, but that really doesn’t do this potato justice. I would say it was more of a rosti, with herbs, cabbage and onion within it, so it was delicious. And the pie, well luckily for me it didn’t have too many mushrooms, but many good chunks of meat and loads of lovely thick, rich sauce, it was good!
After that we just about had room for dessert (well we made sure we did anyway), which was a rather generous slice of Lemon and Orange tart that had the consistency and gooeyness you would expect from a treacle tart, not what we were expecting, but yummy. Accompanied by an even more generous serving of clotted cream. Dessert too was gorgeous, although I don’t like clotted cream, so maybe a small scoop of vanilla ice cream would have been nice. All in all though it was a pretty good meal and I don’t think I’ll be needing to eat tonight!!!
