Today we cycled into Tours from our campsite along the Loire a Velo. This route was entirely off road, on nice cycle tracks which mainly ran right alongside the river Loire so we had good views all the way. We spotted quite a few herons and various other wader birds in the shallower parts of the waters hunting for fish.

We went around the town which is nice, but a little un-picturesque when we were there as they are currently in the process of installing a tram network so their was boarding up all over the place and lots of noisy building/digging going on. We went into Galeries Lafayette which was amazing and then we had filled baguettes for lunch and sat in one of the parks and waited for the next departure of the petit train!
On the petit train we got to see more of the city and learn a bit more about its history, we went through both the new town and old town and also visited the Cathedral, where the train stopped to allow photos to be taken, before returning back to the city centre.
