I have been admiring the photos of Fresh From The Oven, for some time now, always thinking that the next month maybe I would bake the bread they were doing.
Well the time finally came, the format of the monthly challenge changed (the new details can be viewed here including the recipe) and you no longer have to be a member in order to participate so I thought that it was time to have a go! Plus I have been wanting to try make bagels for a long time so this was a good excuse.
They turned out quite well, better than I had expected, although the center holes didn’t close up as much as I had thought they would so next time I won’t make them as big.
I will certainly be making bagels again. Next time I am going to try adding cinnamon and raisins, after that who knows maybe some seeds or something but they were enjoyable to make and tasty as well 🙂

Yes, I anticipated them closing up quite a bit but actually they didn’t at all. Next time I’ll make them smaller I think.
